Shullsburg Schools will host the 21st Annual Senior Citizen's Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, March 18th at the school.  This dinner is for Shullsburg senior citizens.  Attendees are asked to arrive by 11:30 and dinner will begin at noon.  There is no charge for the dinner and musical entertainment will be provided by the students.  For reservations, call the school at 965-4427 by March 12th.  Transportation to the school will be provided if needed.

Southwest Cap LIFT program is currently offering a six-month vocational transportation program for people with disabilities.  The program provides free transportation to a job, or to a training program that will help you find a job.  This program is for a limited number of people.  If you are interested, call 1-877-798-5438 and leave your name, phone number and address. The forms will be mailed to you to begin the application process.

The U.S. Census Bureau is actively recruiting people interested in flexible, part-time jobs for the 2010 Census.  A weekly paycheck, attractive hourly rates and mileage reimbursement make this a fantastic opportunity for people from all walks of life.  The application process is simple.  Call 608-327-5620 and ask for testing dates and times in your area or go to the Website:  http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs for more information.  Census takers are needed in the rural areas of Crawford, Lafayette and Grant Counties.  Additional test sites and dates have been added in Potosi, Cassville, Boscobel, Cuba City, Platteville and Fennimore.  Must be a U.S. citizen and 18 or older to apply.

The Grant County Historical Society's Cunningham Museum, 129 E. Maple Street, Lancaster, will now be open for regularly scheduled hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00pm.  Dr. Cunningham, an early Grant County physician, centered his practice in Grant County.  His office artifacts along with a pictorial collection from the first Black settlement in Grant County, a library containing the Bunny Cottontail series, written by Laura Rountree-Smith and numerous other unique items await your visit.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10

The Platteville American Legion and American Legion Auxillary will hold their annual Legion Birthday Potluck Supper at 6:00pm at the Legion Hall, 60 South Court Street.  Membersa and their families are asked to bring a dish to pass.  Tableservice, beverage and meat will be provided.

FRIDAY, MARCH 12

Potosi Community Bible Church is sponsoring a FREE concert at 7:00pm at Potosi High School presented by Master's College, located in Santa Clarita, California.  The Women's Chamber Choir--a 15-member ensemble will perform.  One of the members of the Women's Chamber Choir, Christine Wagner, is from Platteville.

Holy Ghost-Immaculate Conception in Kieler is sponsoring a Fish Fry, serving from 4:30 to 8:30pm at the school.  There will also be games and refreshments in the gym during the evening.

St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennimore will hold a Fish Fry in the church hall, serving from 5:15 to 8:00pm.

SATURDAY, MARCH 13

The Platteville Optimist Club is sponoring their annual Tri-Star Basketball contest being held at the Platteville Armory beginning at 9:00am.  The contest is open to boys and girls, ages 8 - 13, as of March 15th.  Contestants will compete in the skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Registration forms are available at the Parks & Rec Office at City Hall and on site on the date of competition.  For questions, call the Recreation Office at 348-9741 ext. 238.

The Boscobel Rescue Squad is hosting their 5th Annual St. Patrick's Corned Beef & Cabbage Supper.  Serving begins at 4:00 at the Boscobel Fire Station.

SUNDAY, MARCH 14

The Livingston United Methodist Church will have a Pancake Breakfast, serving from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

The Men of Mt. Hope United Methdosit Church will serve up a Pancake Breakfast, serving from 8:00am to noon.  A Bake Sale will take place too.

Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church will hold a St. Pat's Celebration which includes a dinner--serving from 10:30 to 1:30pm--an Irish Pub & Wine Tasting, Live music and a Plant Sale.  There will also be contests, door prizes and a raffle.  All proceeds will go toward the every day expenses of the parish.
