Making mankind our business, that is the heart of the annual WGLR Holiday Auction. Held the first Saturday in December, the auction is a true showcase of the giving spirit of our Tri-State residents. On this day each year, 97-7 Country, WGLR opens up their airwaves for an all day radio auction. Local businesses kindly donate items and services to be auctioned off. Additionally, the WGLR Holiday Auction features many one of a kind items from a variety of Nashville recording artists. All items are authentically signed, many of which have been gathered in person by WGLR staff.
The money raised during the WGLR Holiday Auction is used to help people in need right here in our Tri State area. Through your donations, the WGLR Holiday Auction is able to help families, individuals and organizations in need all year long. It's all because of the generosity of area businesses and WGLR Holiday Auction listeners, that we've been able to make a difference in so many people's lives.
We raised $21,251 during our 2009 WGLR Holiday Auction. This included a record breaking bid on a Palmer acoustic guitar donated by Ward Bradt Music Mall in Madison and signed by 20 country music artists including Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum and many more.

The 2008 WGLR Holiday Auction raised $21,000, thanks to the generous donations of businesses and individuals, and especially YOU, our wonderful listeners! You opened your hearts and wallets to help people in need, right here in the Tri-State area. 100% of the money raised was used to purchase food, clothing, and gifts for people in need, specifically children, families, and the elderly. Money raised from the WGLR Holiday Auction has also helped with medical expenses for families with children who have cancer, and for families who have lost everything, such as in the case of a house fire, flooding, or other tragedies.
