A fire that spread from an attached garage to truss space under a roof left a Jo Daviess County home uninhabitable. The Menominee Dunleith Fire Department responded at 6:30 p.m. Monday to North Badger Road for a report of a structure fire. A report says an attached garage was engulfed when firefighters were paged. Fire Chief Cal Cain said two occupants of the home safely evacuated and firefighters saved a dog. There were no injuries. The Menominee Dunleith Fire Department received mutual aid from fire departments from East Dubuque, Galena, Jamestown, and Hazel Green. Cain said the home suffered major smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Cain did not have an estimate on monetary damage.
