Starting Wednesday, there will be a free shuttle and water taxi service due to the closure of the Black Hawk Bridge. The service will be available to all riders and will shuttle you between the Lansing Marina in Iowa and Big Slough Landing in Wisconsin, Monday through Saturday. This service will not be available on Sundays. Parking will be available at the De Soto Community Center in Wisconsin and at Lansing City Hall in Iowa. All riders must get off of the water taxi at each stop. This service will run until repairs are made on the existing bridge. For a schedule of the services check our news story on WGLR.com. The Iowa DOT is also reminding bicyclists and pedestrians that the bridge is closed for everyone, not just vehicle traffic and that it is illegal to go around the barricades. For project updates visit the Mississippi River Bridge at Lansing Facebook page.
