A woman accused of killing her mother in Blue Mounds earlier this year was deemed competent and bound over for trial Monday. Online court records show 31-year-old Sierra Schoonover is charged with first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon with a domestic abuse assessment. Prosecutors say she killed her mother, 54-year-old Heather Schoonover. Heather was found dead on April 14 at a home on Smokey Mountain Trail. Sierra was taken into custody following a crash. According to a complaint, a neighbor saw Sierra naked in her driveway arguing with Heather before she was found dead. Sierra was still naked when the crash occurred. During a hearing Monday, a judge found Schoonover competent. She stood mute during an arraignment and a not guilty plea was entered on her behalf. Online records indicate that Schoonover intends to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.
