Justice Jill J. Karofsky on Tuesday officially began her two-year term as Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Justice Karofsky, who was elected to the Court in 2020, was chosen to be chief justice by the other members of the Court earlier this year. She succeeds outgoing Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, who will leave the court when her term ends at the end of the month. Before her election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Karofsky was a circuit court judge in Dane County. She was previously the executive director of the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of Crime Victim Services and was the state’s first Violence Against Women Resource Prosecutor.
