A bakery in Michigan recently had an April Fool’s joke backfire, in the tastiest way possible! The Homestead Kitchen Artisan Cakery in Westland Michigan decided it would be funny to post a fake picture of a hideous ‘Lamb’ cake on instagram, inviting customers to order it in time for Easter. Of course they had no intention of making the creepy, malformed buck toothed cake, but as the image went viral, the orders started pouring in! Not just from their local community, but from across the country and even the globe! “I had no idea it would become a viral sensation and was not prepared for the demand”, said Trina Staats of Homestead Kitchen. Normally their cakes are elegant and beautiful, but this April Fools Joke revealed there apparently IS a market for ugly baked goods…which is good for me (Rob Spangler) since it’s the only kind I can create…LOL
