A semi-driver was injured in an early morning crash on Saturday near Platteville. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Maurice O’Leary of Footville was driving east on Highway 81 around 4:30am. He was pulling a fully loaded tanker with milk when he struck a deer. That caused the semi to crash into a guardrail, leave the roadway, roll down an embankment and hit a power pole before coming to rest on its side. O’Leary was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
