A new mobile app is being blamed for the delay in reporting the results of Iowa’s 1,700 caucuses. Glitches with the mobile app caused confusion and left the caucus results unknown early Tuesday. Some caucus organizers were forced to call in results for the state party to record manually, introducing delays and the possibility for human error. The party said it expects to release data later Tuesday after manually verifying its data against paper backups.
Meanwhile, more than 100 Dubuque County Republicans gathered in Peosta on Monday night to cast a largely symbolic vote in support of President Donald Trump. Only three of the 107 people in attendance cast votes for a candidate other than Trump.
