Grant County authorities say a 25-year-old Fennimore man is facing multiple charges for trying to flee officers and ultimately was taken into custody after being tased repeatedly. A report from Lancaster Police say an officer attempted to stop a speeding truck on Highway 61 near Bemis Road about 3am Sunday. Officials say the driver – Trenton Pink – continued to speed away north on Highway 61. A Grant County Deputy joined the pursuit and Fennimore Police tried to use stop sticks on the vehicle. However, Pink kept driving until pulling into a driveway in the city of Fennimore. Pink resisted arrest and lunged at the officers. After the third attempt to use a taser on Pink, police were able to take him into custody. He was evaluated at the scene by Fennimore EMS and later taken to Grant Regional Health Center where authorities obtained a warrant to get a blood sample. Pink has been charged with resisting an officer, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct. Additional charges of operating while intoxicated and speeding are pending.
