A local police chief will be serving on the governor’s census committee. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced his appointments for the 2020 Census Complete Count Committee – which Lancaster Chief of Police Deb Reukauf is joining. According to a release from Evers’ office, the committee is tasked with educating people around the state on the importance of completing the 2020 census. Their mission also includes developing outreach strategies to contact hard-to-count communities, while identifying and reducing barriers that impede participation in the counting process. Evers says, “it is estimated that Wisconsin’s hard-to-count population is over 600,000.”
