A referendum issue for the River Ridge School District has failed by a single vote. Unofficial results from Tuesday’s polls shows voters in the district voted 331 against the measure – and 330 in favor of it. The referendum question was in regards to general obligation bonds of up to $2.3-million dollars to pay the cost of constructing and equipping outdoor facilities – including athletic fields and site improvements. A 2nd part to the question was whether the River Ridge School District should refinance state trust fund loans, which were issued to provide financing to cover the campus updates. School district officials say they will look at possibly holding another referendum vote in the fall.
