Multiple law enforcement agencies in northwest Illinois are continuing to investigate human skeletal remains found recently. A report from the Savanna Police Department says officers were notified on Saturday about the remains. Police said a man came across the skeletal remains while checking for antler sheds in a swampy area on railroad property. Members of the Savanna Police Department, Carroll County Coroner’s Office and state Crime Scene Services are investigating. Authorities say there are no known missing persons in that area – and, at this time, it is not known exactly how old the remains could be.
