With Election Day a few weeks away, one of the few contested races in Lancaster is for the city council’s two at-large seats. Voters will be asked to pick two of the three candidates running for the position. Incumbent Stuart Harper is joined on the ballot by challengers Terry Meyer and Matt Pennekamp. The Lancaster City Council’s other at-large member up for election this spring is Rose Oliveto. However, she is running unopposed for the 3rd District seat being vacated by Pete Hoffman. Also, 1st District Alderman Brett Rollins is not being challenged for his council seat. Lancaster Mayor Dave Varnam is uncontested in his re-election bid. Area city clerks are encouraging absentee voting.
