The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is nearing 2-thousand in Wisconsin. State and county health officials said the total number has reached 1,996, which is over 200 more than Thursday’s total. Health officials report 44 people have died in the state due to coronavirus. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said about 22,400 results were negative, while almost 500 patients have been hospitalized. Locally – no new cases reported Friday in southwest Wisconsin. In Iowa, there are now 23 cases in Dubuque County, 16 in Allamakee, and 3 in Clayton County. There are now 4 cases reported in Jo Daviess County
