Grant County officials are putting out the call to retired healthcare workers. In a release Friday, the county’s emergency response team is asking for help from former professionals in the healthcare field. The Wisconsin Emergency Assistance Volunteer Registry is a web-based volunteer registration system for healthcare and behavioral health professionals. They’re asking that if you have – or have had – previous healthcare experience, that you consider taking a moment to sign up. There are more details at WEAVRWI.org.
• If you register and are asked to serve, your liability and worker’s compensation insurance will be provided.
• Volunteers may be needed because of the current response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• When you fill out the profile, you will include distance you are willing to travel, dates and amount of time you are able to volunteer.
• If you aren’t currently affiliated or working for a healthcare organization, you will be asked about the status of your license.
• If selected, you will be contacted by the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center to provide you with the information regarding where to report, what to bring and any other information.
• Just-in-time training will be provided at the site where they will be directed to report.
