Among the contested municipal races in Grant County – one incumbent and one newcomer have won at-large seats on the Lancaster Common Council. In results released last night, Stuart Harper was re-elected to the council while Matt Pennekamp won the other at-large spot on the ballot – beating out another challenger, Terry Meyer. Meanwhile, in the city of Platteville, recently-retired chamber of commerce director Kathy Kopp has won an at-large seat on the common council. Kopp beat out Frank King Jr on 363-to-229 vote for the position being vacated by Barb Stockhausen. Also, Boscobel Mayor Steve Wetter won re-election over his challenger – Lyle Vesperman – on a count of 378 to 124.
