Governor Tony Evers says he won’t rule out the Republican idea of opening some parts of the state less-affected by COVID-19 a little earlier. Evers says that’s one idea he discussed in a Monday meeting with legislative leaders. He says the group didn’t come to any conclusions. Evers says he’s concerned that rural areas are being under-counted due to lack of testing and opening them up to tourism this summer could cause a big increase in cases. During an interview, Evers said he would “never say never in this situation” when it comes to regionalization.
