Health officials in Iowa County say that all residents and staff at skilled nursing facilities in the county will be tested for COVID-19. In a release from the Iowa County Health Department, the baseline testing will be done to identify those who may be infected – and to ensure appropriate measures are taken to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The county health department, along with Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center, Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehab Center, plus Mineral Point Health Services, say testing of nursing home residents and staff is underway. Additional testing is planned for all Iowa County assisted living facilities. Officials say there is no cost to residents or employees for the testing.
