The company took action in late April when learning that two 2nd shift employees had the coronavirus. Prairie Industries stopped running its 2nd shift from April 26th thru May 1st at their north facility in Prairie du Chien. The following week, the entire north building was shut down – and it remains closed at this time. With assistance from the National Guard and Crawford County Emergency Management, Prairie Industries officials organized a mass testing site to check all of its workers. No specific numbers of confirmed cases were released. The company only reported that “a small number” of tests were positive.
