Shooting Incident in Platteville Results In Arrest

A disturbance in the parking lot of a Platteville apartment complex left one man arrested and another man hospitalized. The Platteville Police Department was called about 3:45 Saturday afternoon for reports of a gun-shot at Lanridge Apartments on the northwest side of the city. A police report shows officers apprehended one man who faces potential weapons charges and substantial battery. Another man was taken to Southwest Health Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Officers said the two males were part of a group of people fighting in the parking lot of the complex on Highway 81. Police believe this was an isolated incident involving two people who know each other – and do not think there is any threat to the public connected to this case. Authorities are still investigating and have not yet released the names of those involved in the altercation on Saturday.
