The Iowa County Health Department has reported two positive tests for COVID-19 at Arena Cheese. In a release, the agency says it is working with Arena Cheese officials to conduct a thorough investigation to track and trace the virus. Iowa County Health Department Director Debbie Siegenthaler said they “want to assure the community that leadership and staff at the facility are taking all necessary steps to contain the spread of the virus.” A plan has been developed for testing all close contacts, including employees. Testing remains a key strategy for health officials to identify individuals who have COVID-19 – and for them to prevent others from becoming infected.
Locally, Grant County has reported 99 cases of COVID-19, Lafayette County reported 1 new case and now has had 35 cases. Crawford County has had 26, Iowa County 16 cases and Richland County 14. In Illinois, Jo Daviess County has reported 33 cases.
