A Muscoda woman is facing drug charges after authorities investigated a disturbance along Highway 133. A Grant County Sheriff’s Office report states deputies were called to a residence in Muscoda Township on June 6. While investigating, officers noticed 22-year-old Samantha Smith was showing signs of impairment. After confirming use of illegal substances, deputies took Smith into custody for operating while under the influence. Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies searched her vehicle and found multiple drug related items. In addition to operating while under the influence, Smith also faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities say other charges against Smith are pending. During the same incident, officials also cited 29-year-old Daniel McLean of Muscoda for possessing both marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
