Lancaster Fire and EMS responded to Buckwheat Ridge Road in Ellenboro Monday around 1:45pm for an equipment rollover in which a man was pinned under the machinery. A tractor pulling a roller compacting gravel on the roadway left the road and rolled down a 60-foot embankment, coming to rest on its top in a creek bed with the operator pinned under the equipment. The Lancaster Fire Department was able to free the operator using hydraulic rescue tools and cribbing. The operator was taken to UW Hospital in Madison by Medflight and was listed in stable condition. The Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, Bennett’s Towing, and Guy’s Wrecker of Kieler assisted at the scene.
