Authorities have released the name of a teen, whose body was found on Monday in the Mississippi River north of Prairie du Chien. According to a sheriff’s report, 18-year-old Nathan Featherson of Waterloo (Iowa) likely drowned while he was on a camping trip. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was called early Sunday regarding a missing person. A group that Featherson was with told authorities he was trying to swim between the shore and an island near the Gordon’s Bay boat landing. Emergency crews began searching that area of the river, discovering his body Monday afternoon. The case does remain under investigation.
