Drunk Driver Crashes Vehicle Into Power Pole

A man from Belmont was arrested for driving drunk and crashing his vehicle into a power pole Saturday. A deputy with the Lafayette County Sherriff’s Department responded to County Highway H in Benton Township Saturday around 9am. 23 year old Matthew Doney was traveling on County Highway H when he lost control of his vehicle causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, striking a power pole. Southwest Health EMS, Cuba City Fire and Alliant Energy assisted at the scene. Doney’s vehicle had moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Doney was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated-2^nd offense, and cited for No Insurance and Failure to keep his vehicle under control.
