A 21-year-old Lone Rock man is dead after crashing his vehicle into the Wisconsin River early Sunday. The Richland County sheriff’s department says their office was called about 5:40a regarding a vehicle in the river. Deputies responded to Highway 130 – which is under construction – and said it appeared that a vehicle traveled thru barricades on the roadway. Authorities discovered vehicle tracks going thru a boat landing, entering the Wisconsin River. First responders located the vehicle around 6am about 300 yards down river from the Highway 130 Bridge. Officials say the vehicle was submerged, with a few inches of water over it. Crews removed the vehicle’s sunroof and pulled Kodi Knoble from the vehicle. Emergency personnel began CPR before Knoble was taken to Richland Hospital – where he was pronounced dead. Members of Sauk County’s Dive Team and Sheriff’s Department, as well as Lone Rock fire and EMS, assisted at the scene.
