Two people from the northern Chicago-land area were hurt in a crash on Saturday near Galena. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reports 24-year-old Richard Bosko and a 17-year-old girl, both of Wadsworth, were on a motor scooter about 3 miles northeast of Galena. Authorities say Bosko was driving the scooter on North Bowden Road around 7pm when it was struck by a deer. Both occupants were thrown from the vehicle in the crash. Emergency crews transported them to Midwest Medical Center in Galena. Bosko was later airlifted to a hospital in Rockford. Authorities didn’t have an update on Bosko’s condition and did not provide any additional details about the teenage passenger. The sheriff’s office says that the crash remains under investigation.
