A northwest Illinois man is dead after being confronting by another man about trespassing on his property. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Dana Clark of Galena was fatally shot Tuesday night in rural Hanover. Officials say Clark was confronted by 37-year-old David Van Winkle for allegedly trespassing on private property. A report from the sheriff’s department says the confrontation became physical between the two men. Van Winkle fired a single shot, hitting Clark in the chest. Officials say an investigation into the incident in ongoing.
