The first day of the Democratic National Convention is very quiet in downtown Milwaukee. There were supposed to be 50 thousand people attending the event. Instead, most of those connected to the convention activities are in the Wisconsin Center working in the background, making sure everything is streamed online. There are said to be a few Democratic delegates in Milwaukee this week, but the party’s big names aren’t going to be there. Joe Biden has announced he will accept the Democratic nomination in a virtual presentation from his home state of Delaware. The convention officially kicks off tonight (Monday).
