A 39-year-old Galena woman is facing drug charges after Hazel Green police were called about a burglary. Officers responded to a residence in the village last Friday. Police were told 39-year-old Elizabeth Harris uses meth and would be returning to the home to get the rest of the things. When Harris arrived at the home, officers talked to her about the property taken from the residence. A K9 officer alerted authorities to the presence of an illegal substance in her vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and found a plastic baggy with a clear crystal like material, a metal container containing a dark colored rock like material, and two glass smoking devices with burnt residue were located in a bag Harris said belonged to her. Both materials tested positive as meth. Harris was arrested for Possession of Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
