One person is dead after an early morning fire in the Crawford County Village of Lynxville. According to a sheriff’s report, authorities were called just after 2am Friday for a house fire on Spring Street. The home was fully engulfed and the blaze spread to a nearby building – leading to both becoming fully engulfed. During the fire investigation, officials found the badly burned remains of a deceased body. The state Fire Marshall’s Office is now investigating the incident and has not released the name of the victim. The cause of the fire is still under investigation as well. Local authorities closed a section of Highway 35 in Lynxville for roughly 4 hours due to the heavy smoke and flames near the roadway.
