Two northwest Illinois counties are on a health department list of the areas being label as warning level for COVID-19. The Illinois Department of Public Health included Jo Daviess and Carroll Counties among the 30 statewide being placed in the warning level category. A release from the agency notes that the designation is based on increases in at least two risk factors related to the spread of the virus. Those risk factors can include a rise in the number of cases or outbreaks connected to large gatherings or long-term care sites, as well as traveling to neighboring states that increases community spread. Over the past week, Jo Daviess County has had a COVID-19 positivity rate above 10%.
