The second of three Amish men from southwest Wisconsin has been sentenced in connection to multiple sex crimes. As part of a plea deal, 37-year-old Elam Allgyer of Darlington will serve one year in jail, with work release, and five years of probation. Allgyer pled guilty to 1st-degree sexual assault of a child, attempted 1st-degree sexual assault of a child, attempted 2nd-degree sexual assault, plus three counts of other sex-related crimes. Four counts of 1st-degree sexual assault of a child were dismissed in Allgyer’s plea deal. The case involved two other men, who investigators charged with similar sex crimes based on abuse over several years with multiple victims. One of the men, 25-year-old Elmer Stoltzfus of Cuba City, has already been sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to his crimes. The third man, 31-year-old Benjamin Allgyer of Mineral Point, is scheduled to have a plea hearing in early October.
