A second woman – accused of attacking Wisconsin state Senator Tim Carpenter in Madison – has pled not guilty. Platteville native Samantha Hamer is facing a count of substantial battery as party to a crime for the alleged assault at a June protest. Another woman entered a not guilty plea as well. Carpenter says he was taking pictures of protesters when he was assaulted and suffered injuries that required surgery.
