An area businessman has recently purchased about 10 acres of land at the former Nelson Dewey Generating Station in Cassville. The sale was finalized this week to Charlie Wamsley – who has plans to convert the site to a grain terminal and freight loading operation. Alliant Energy still owns around 90 acres of the original Nelson Dewey site. They continue to market the property for redevelopment after the power plant was dismantled and demolished a few years ago.
