The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department made a drug arrest Wednesday. The K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop in Prairie du Chein on a vehicle driven by 42 year old Amber Mahoney of Boscobel. The passenger in the vehicle was 41 year old Shaun Pitzer of Prairie du Chien. Both persons showed signs of drug impairment, which lead to K-9 Breck to perform an open free air sniff of the vehicle. Deputies found a plastic bag of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine smoking device, a hypodermic needle with suspected methamphetamine liquid inside, and marijuana. Mahoney was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance, fourth offense. Pitzer, who is on active probation through the State of Wisconsin was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping and probation violation. Assisting the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was the Prairie du Chien Police Department, Wisconsin Probation and Parole, and Crossing Rivers Hospital.
