Arrest Made After Two Vehicle Accident in Lafayette County

No injuries were reported but an arrest was made after a two vehicle accident in Lafayette County. Belmont Fire and Belmont EMS responded to Highway 81 in Elk Grove Township for a two vehicle accident shortly before 5pm Friday. 62 year old Deborah Symons of East Dubuque was traveling east on Highway 81 when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 28 year old Nicole Wiegel of Darlington. Both vehicles had moderate damage and were towed from the scene. After further investigation, Symons was arrested by deputies on 3 valid warrants and was taken to the Lafayette County Jail where she was booked on her charges. She later posted bond and was released.
