Iowa County Fatal Crash – Updated

Officials have identified the victim of a fatal crash near Dodgeville that happened Saturday. The investigation reveals a vehicle, traveling east on Highway 18 near County Highway CH, crossed the center-line into the oncoming lanes before striking a vehicle head-on. The eastbound vehicle – driven by 83-year-old Jerry Studnicka of Cobb – caught fire and became fully engulfed. Studnicka died from injuries received in the crash. The other driver – 36-year-old Karri Calvert of Montfort – was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
