An estimated $7-million dollar road-work project is under review by the Wisconsin DOT – in hopes of having construction starting in 2023. DOT staff is currently accepting public input regarding changes planned for an almost 20-mile stretch of Highway 61 from Lancaster to Dickeyville. The work is reported to include four more passing lanes, as well as a round-about at the Highway 61/81 intersection south of Lancaster. DOT officials are preparing for project bids to go out in the fall of 2022 – and the work to be completed during calendar year 2023. Comments can be mailed to Wisconsin Department of Transportation, 3550 Mormon Coulee Road, La Crosse, Wis. 54601.
