A public hearing regarding a proposed mask ordinance for the City of Platteville is scheduled for tonight. The hearing is part of the Platteville Common Council’s regular business meeting. The ordinance comes as the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the state and region. The draft mask ordinance, as written now, would require a face covering for anyone 5 years old or older. Masks would have to be worn whenever in a building open to the public – and in an area of a building open to the public. A copy of the draft ordinance is available on the city’s website – Platteville-dot-org. You can also find a Zoom link on that site to view tonight’s meeting – which is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
