Emergency crews were called to a farm on Stage Road north of Potosi around 1:15pm Wednesday. Potosi Fire and EMS officials responded to reports of a round baler on fire that was in a field. According to Potosi Fire Chief Ryne Emler, firefighters used about 2500 gallons of water to battle the blaze. He says high winds made it difficult to keep the fire out of nearby standing corn, but crews were able to contain the damage mostly to the baler. Officials did not report any injuries, though Emler said that the baler is considered a complete loss.
