Grant County authorities have released details of a three-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of College Farm Road and Highway 80 south of Platteville Friday. The accident occurred around 8am when a vehicle driven by 21 year old Kailynn Martin of Warren, Illinois was traveling south on Highway 80 and came to a stop at the intersection of Highway 80 and College Farm Road signaling to make a left turn. Martin was waiting on northbound traffic when a vehicle driven by 42 year old Sean McKenzie of Platteville ran into the rear of Martin’s vehicle. Martin’s vehicle spun out of control and struck a vehicle traveling north on Highway 80 driven by 22 year old Shakira Ruiz-Rodriguez of Darlington. Ruiz-Rodriquez had 2 passengers in her vehicle, 32 year old Giovanny Hernandez-Fleiberty of Darlington and a juvenile. Martin, Ruiz-Rodriguez, Hernandez-Fleiberty and their juvenile child were not injured. McKenzie was taken to Southwest Health Center for unknown injuries. McKenzie was cited for Inattentive Driving. Martin’s vehicle was removed by SOS Towing from Platteville and McKenzie’s vehicle was removed by Donnie’s Tire & Tow. Ruiz-Rodriguez’s vehicle was driven away. Martin’s and McKenzie’s vehicles had heavy damage The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Platteville Fire & Rescue.
