Many of the record one-point-nine million people voting early or absentee this election are waiting until the last day to turn in their ballot. Nearly two-thirds of all registered voters in Wisconsin found avenues to vote other than turning up at a polling place in-person. Now, those voters risk not having their votes counted because many haven’t returned their absentee ballot. The Wisconsin Elections Commission reports there are nearly 175 thousand outstanding absentee ballots in the state. To be counted all of those ballots must be turned in by 8:00 p-m.
