Health officials in Crawford County are urging all of the county’s middle and high schools to move students to virtual learning as a way to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Crawford County Health Department also has recommended that schools postpone all contact sports. In a release from the department, health officials say if the spread of the virus does not slow, they’d recommend virtual learning thru the end of the year. According to the latest figures, Crawford County reported 149 new COVID-19 cases over the two weeks – that’s up from 86 cases in the two weeks prior to that. County officials say more than half of those infected don’t know where they could have gotten the virus – meaning some 60-percent of those cases are considered community spread.
