A northern Illinois teen had to be airlifted to Rockford after he was trapped under a piece of farm equipment. According to a report from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s office, 19-year-old Thomas Herbig of Pecatonica was driving a tractor Monday morning in rural Elizabeth. Officials say the tractor over-turned in a field along Bethel Road when one of the tires went into a hole and caused the machinery to roll onto its side. Herbig had to be extricated from the tractor by Elizabeth Fire Department officials. He was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
