Former Darlington Principal Passes Away

A former Darlington High School principal and UW-Platteville instructor has died. Dave Chellevold passed away on December 15^th. Chellevold was 79. Chellevold was born in Viroqua and grew up in Darlington where he later became a guidance counselor and eventually became Principal in the 1970s. Upon retiring from that position after nearly 30 years, Chellevold served as an interim Principal at Belmont High School and taught at UW-Platteville. Recently, he had been living in Mount Horeb. Due to Covid-19 and restrictions, a private funeral service for the family will be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Horeb, with Celebration of Life services to be held at a later date. Kendall Funeral Services in Boscobel is handling arrangements.
