Semi Accident Near Belmont

Belmont Fire and EMS responded to Highway 151 near Belmont around 3am Wednesday for a semi accident. 66 year old Gary Derrick of Oklahoma was traveling on Highway 151 in a 2016 International semi when he attempted to pull over on the side of the road and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. Both the semi and vehicle had severe damage and were towed from the scene. Minor injuries were reported. Deputies from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department assisted  at the scene.
