Multiple departments responded to a fire at a Jo Daviess County business on Tuesday. Officials say the blaze at Hangover Tap in Hanover was first reported around 11:30am. Crews from Elizabeth, Galena, Mount Carroll, Savanna and Stockton assisted the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department. According to a report, the fire began in an apartment above the tavern. The 2nd-story residence had interior and exterior damage. Fire officials say the Hangover Tap suffered water damage while crews worked to contain the blaze. Some units remained at the scene until almost 5:30 – or 6 hours after the initial call. The state fire marshal’s office is handling the investigation
