A rural Platteville man could face a charge of domestic battery after a multi-hour stand-off. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called around 11:30 Friday morning for a possible domestic abuse incident at a home along Highway 81 near Whig Road. Deputies believed 45-year-old Jeremy Kastner had barricaded himself inside the home following a reported altercation. The Southwest Emergency Response Team and trained negotiators were sent to the scene. After several hours, officials learned new information about the incident, determined there was no threat and left the scene. The charge against Kastner has been referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s office.
